Job Description

New Flows (NF) division’s charter is to capture new sources of money movement through card and non-card flows, including Visa Business Solutions, Government Solutions and Visa Direct which presents an enormous growth opportunity. Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments.

Digital solutions and Business Reporting are integral parts of solution that provide small business clients a rich set of functionalities. We are looking for a Director (Mobile Engineering) to join our Small Business engineering team and lead a talented team of engineers.

Primary responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of mobile app engineers in the iOS & Android app domains.
  • Drive productivity through engineering fundamentals and industry best practices.
  • Play a crucial role in interfacing with business stakeholders to define solutions & requirements, prioritize, and drive execution using agile methodologies.
  • Foster the culture of automation & Shift-Left
  • Hire top engineering talent, provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to your staff to nurture and grow talent.
  • Create an engineering culture of creativity and innovation
  • Drive development of new products by building quick POCs and converting ideas into real products.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meet business requirements and exceeds expectations while applying the latest available tools and technology.
  • Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field. 14 plus years of software industry work experience with at least 5 plus years of people & team management experience.
  • Proven track record in managing mobile engineering teams, developing & deploying mobile apps on iOS & Android with large scale adoption & usage.
  • Experience in iOS and Android app design, development & deployment
  • Strong understanding of architecture patterns like Microservices and operational characteristics of highly available and scalable applications.
  • Proven track record to recruit, grow & retain top talent
  • Ability to collaborate in a globally distributed environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication/articulation skills.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to grasp big picture and explain to team in simple terms.
  • Previous experience with financial services/payments processing experiences a big plus.
